Okay, this is amusing. My wife is having a garage sale today before we move and some guy walks in and sees my Schramm classical guitar sitting there (I was playing it in the back of the garage). He walks up and offers me $5.00 bucks for it! I laughed and asked him if he knew anything about guitars. He says he's a musician and knows all about guitars, and that my classical was worth a little more but he hoped I would take 5 bucks for it. I looked at him and said "hmm, I paid close to three thousand, so yeah, it should be worth at least 5 bucks". He gave me that look like I was from a different planet and proceeds to tell me there aren't hardly any guitars worth over $1,000. I laughed and offered to sell him some off-cuts from a cedar board for 5 bucks.

I guess you see all types coming to garage sales, but this one really made me laugh because he was dead serious.

Cheers!

John

When I first started reading this I thought it was going to turn into a Horror story of your wife (or someone else) mistaking it for one you wanted to sell and letting it go for $5.
Wow, how unpleasant would that be?!?

Funny story John.

I don't mind if someone is ingnorant about guitars or their value, until they start explaining what an expert they are. Hard to talk to someone who already knows everything.

if you had been playing one of these he probably wouldn't have offered you $5 because it needed repair!
